Frequently Asked Questions
Booking & Quotes
Call us at (812) 312-5333 or use the quote form on any page. Our transport advisors provide real, locked-in pricing — not estimates. You'll receive your quote within minutes.
Never. Quotes are always 100% free with zero obligation. We don't collect payment info until you're ready to book.
After receiving your quote, simply confirm with your transport advisor. Your price is locked immediately under the ScottPrice Lock Guarantee. Free quote, no obligation.
You can start the process with our online quote form. A dedicated transport advisor will follow up with your exact pricing and finalize the booking over the phone.
We recommend booking 1-2 weeks ahead for the best carrier availability. However, we also offer expedited shipping if you need faster pickup — sometimes within 24-48 hours.
Yes. Free cancellation anytime before a carrier is dispatched. If a carrier has already been assigned and is en route, a cancellation fee may apply. Contact your coordinator for details.
Pricing & Payment
Pricing depends on distance, vehicle size, transport type (open vs. enclosed), and seasonal demand. Most shipments range from $0.50-$1.50 per mile. A typical coast-to-coast shipment runs $1,000-$1,500. Use our quote form for an exact, locked-in price.
Your advisor will walk you through booking and payment options. No hidden fees, no surprise charges.
Cash, cashier's check, money order, and credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover). Payment is collected by the carrier at pickup.
Never. The ScottPrice Lock Guarantee means your quoted price is your final price. No fuel surcharges, no admin fees, no broker fees, no surprise charges — ever.
When we quote you a price, that price is locked in — guaranteed. Unlike other brokers who quote low and charge more later, we honor every quote. If market conditions change after you book, we absorb the difference. Your price never goes up.
Many brokers quote artificially low prices to win your business, then raise the price later or fail to find a carrier. Our quotes reflect real market rates that carriers actually accept — which means your vehicle gets picked up on time, every time.
Pickup & Delivery
Transit times depend on distance: under 500 miles (1-3 days), 500-1,000 miles (3-5 days), 1,000-2,000 miles (5-7 days), coast-to-coast (7-10 days). Your coordinator provides an estimated window at booking.
Yes. Door-to-door service means we pick up and deliver at your specified addresses. The carrier just needs about 70-100 feet of clearance for the truck and trailer.
If your street is too narrow or has low-hanging trees/wires, the carrier will arrange a nearby meeting point — usually a parking lot or wider street within a mile or two. Your coordinator works this out in advance so there are no surprises.
Yes, or you can designate an authorized representative (friend, family member, dealer staff). Someone over 18 must be present to sign the Bill of Lading and inspect the vehicle at both ends.
Carriers operate on pickup windows (typically 1-3 days) rather than exact times due to routing logistics. Your coordinator narrows this window as your pickup date approaches and gives you a heads-up when the driver is nearby.
We accommodate date preferences and do our best to match them. For guaranteed specific-day pickup, our expedited service provides priority carrier assignment.
Insurance & Protection
Yes. Every carrier in our network carries a minimum of $750,000 in cargo insurance. We verify active coverage before assigning any carrier to your shipment. You receive proof of insurance before your vehicle is loaded.
Carrier cargo insurance covers damage that occurs during loading, transport, and unloading of your vehicle. This includes dents, scratches, and other physical damage directly caused by the transport process.
Note any new damage on the Bill of Lading at delivery — do not sign without inspecting. Take photos immediately. Contact your coordinator right away. The carrier's insurance covers transport-related damage, and we help facilitate the claims process.
No. Carrier insurance covers the vehicle only. We allow up to 150 lbs of soft items in the trunk, but these are transported at your own risk and are not insured.
A legal document completed at both pickup and delivery that records your vehicle's condition — existing scratches, dents, etc. It's your proof for any insurance claims. Always inspect your vehicle carefully and note anything on the BOL before signing.
Vehicle Preparation
Wash your vehicle and photograph all four sides plus the roof. Remove personal belongings and valuables. Leave fuel at 1/4 tank or less. Disable aftermarket alarms. Fold in mirrors. Secure or remove loose parts (spoilers, antennas). Provide one set of keys to the driver.
Yes. We transport non-running, inoperable, and project vehicles regularly using specialized equipment (winch or forklift loading). Let us know at booking so we assign the right carrier. An additional fee of $100-$300 typically applies.
We allow up to 150 lbs of soft items in the trunk only — no valuables, no fragile items, nothing on the seats or dashboard. Items are not insured. Excess weight may result in additional charges.
No — keep it at 1/4 tank or less. Less fuel means less weight, which is safer and more efficient for transport. The carrier only needs enough to load/unload.
Yes. A clean vehicle makes the pre-transport inspection much more accurate. It's easier to document existing scratches and dents on a clean surface, which protects you if you need to file a claim.
Lowered vehicles, oversized tires, body kits, and roof racks should be disclosed at booking. Modified vehicles may require special loading equipment or enclosed transport. Undisclosed modifications can delay pickup.
Tracking & Updates
Your dedicated coordinator provides updates at every milestone: carrier assignment, pickup confirmation, in-transit checkpoints, and delivery. You can also call (812) 312-5333 or visit our Check My Order page anytime.
Yes. Once a carrier is assigned, your coordinator shares the carrier company name, driver name, and contact number. You'll know exactly who has your vehicle.
Your coordinator reaches out at key milestones. For longer routes, you'll also get in-transit check-ins. You're always welcome to call your coordinator's direct line for a live update anytime.
Weather, road conditions, and mechanical issues can occasionally cause delays. Your coordinator monitors the shipment and will proactively contact you with updated timing if anything changes.
